Booking Advice

Booking advice changes based on what your priorities are. My first piece of advice is be as flexible as possible. I usually let the deals determine my dates and destinations.

Do you have specific dates you have to travel? If so, being flexible with location may be the most helpful. Try to search for that super low fare flight destination. Do you have a specific end destination in mind? If so, then being flexible with your dates will help you seek the best deal so that your miles and dollars get you the trip of your dreams.

Know your worth!

While it is always great to have self-worth, that is not what I mean here! At least a few times a year, you should take stock of your various points and miles accounts. Evaluate how many points you have with each program and assess their current value. For those programs that you hold status with or for those that come with benefits, take stock of what you have used year to date and what you have remaining for the year. Never leave any benefits/perks unused!

Check your redemption values

Prior to booking with points or using a points plus cash option, you should always evaluate the current monetary and the specific redemption value of your points. How? Use my calculator!

Do you need help?

I offer one-on-one virtual consultations to help find flights, hotels and create itineraries for the trip of your dreams. The first half hour is free and services after that will be invoiced by the hour and begin at $50 an hour.
